Excellent on snack crackers or with pretzels. Even better with smoked salmon.
4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
2 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
8 oz. cream cheese, cut into small pieces
4 oz. bleu cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup half-and-half
2 tbs. chopped fresh chives
3 tbs. chopped smoked almonds
In a saucepan combine the bacon, garlic, cream cheese, bleu cheese, and half-and-half. The recipe can be completed to this point up to eight hours before heating.
Place the pan on low heat and warm the dip, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted. Stir in the chives. Transfer to a serving bowl that has a lighted Sterno can or candle under it to keep it warm. Sprinkle with the chopped almonds and serve.
Makes 2 cups.
